Papa Johnson

Just before Thanksgiving, Jonas' dad Steve was admitted to the hospital for a bowel obstruction.  After multiple complications and one battle after another, he passed away on New Year's Day.  My heart is so saddened by his loss.  Once again, what makes me most sad is thinking about what out kids are missing out on.  We were truly blessed to be able to spend a few summers with him and Mimi here in Bellingham.
Papa loved with his whole heart.  He was the kindest man, always with open ears for everyone.  He had a pretty unique ability to get everyone to open up to him, even total strangers he met at the grocery store.
Papa was so patient and caring, I hope I'm able to do his memory justice for our children.  The kids' favorite things to do with Papa were reading and coloring, and he would do it for hours.  What patience!  We miss you already, Papa.
